About Me

In 2020, I made a life-changing decision to switch to a vegan diet after watching the movie, The Game Changers. This decision brought immense happiness and transformation into my life.

Coming from a family with a history of chronic health problems, embracing veganism was not just a personal choice for me, but a proactive way to enhance my well-being.

I am originally from a small town in North Carolina, but now I reside near Washington DC, where I passionately share my healthy, whole foodsie, vegan recipes on my YouTube channel, Chickpea Chick.

Through my platform, I hope to inspire others to explore the benefits of eating a mostly whole food, vegan diet, and hopefully create a positive ripple effect in my community.

My Reasons

Eating a whole food plant-based diet is not only beneficial for our personal health but also for the well-being of all animals and the planet.

By consuming whole, minimally processed plant foods, we provide our bodies with essential nutrients, fiber, and antioxidants that can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.

Choosing a plant-based diet also promotes animal welfare by decreasing the demand for animal products and supporting a more ethical approach to food consumption.

Additionally, plant-based diets have a lower carbon footprint compared to diets rich in animal products, thus contributing to the fight against climate change.

Making the shift towards a whole food plant-based diet can lead to a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle for ourselves and the world around us.

  • There is an alternative or vegan replacement for everything! There is not one type of food or meal that I miss eating this way.

  • Starting out it can be a bit challenging, but all it requires is a bit of effort and consistency! It’s actually cheaper eating this way compared to a traditional American Diet, because beans, rice, frozen veggies and fruit are pretty inexpensive!

  • I definitely feel great eating this way. My body feels lighter than before and my digestion is not bogged down by consuming all of the heavy animal products and oil. My sleep is super consistent and I find my sleep is more restful.
